Singaporean artist Keng Lye creates unusual three-dimensional images of animals, using acrylic paint and epoxy. His work is a combination between painting and sculpture.
Keng Lye creates the illusion of animals swimming in water. The creation process of each work is very laborious. The artist fills the vessel with layers of epoxy, painting each of them with acrylic paints. The resulting combination of the layers creates the sense of volume and depth of the object. Keng Lye’s works are pretty expensive, because the creation of each product takes a lot of time. However, there is always a demand for his work.
