Since 1997, artist and sculptor  Gerry Judah  creates his unusual automobile sculptures. His first experience was a project for the  Goodwood Festival of Speed  that took place in Sussex. Gerry Judah was born and raised in Bangalore, India. But then, when the future artist was ten years old, his family moved to London. In the UK he received a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts. All his sculptures are made of tens of tons of steel and look very monumental. It is worth noting that his projects are focused exclusively on the automotive topic. The reason is unknown to us.

Singaporean artist Keng Lye creates unusual three-dimensional images of animals, using acrylic paint and epoxy. His work is a combination between painting and sculpture.

Sparksfly Design studio represented by Clive Cooper has a large specialization in various fields of art and design. Watermelon carving is an exclusive part of them. The studio has two founders; the second one being Sharon Smith, who is Clive’s wife. Author’s creation deserves some attention. In creating this sculptures he used techniques used in pumpkin carving.

French artist Marc Giai-Miniet’s works may look like doll houses at first, but they’ll give you the chills. He creates   miniature boxes with gloomy old-school sci-fi laboratories, attics, libraries, storage and interrogation cells, and houses full of dusty, rusty rooms.

Virginia-based artist  Eric Standley  ( previously ) brings a whole new meaning to the term “cutting edge” with his methodical stained glass windows created entirely from laser-cut paper. Standley stacks well over 100 sheets for many of his pieces which involve months of planning, drawing, and assembly. The artist says his inspiration comes from the geometry found in Gothic and Islamic architectural ornamentation which he somewhat jokingly calls “folk math.”

UNICEF and Qantas are running “5 Fund”, an Australian campaign designed to inspire a nation to turn something that they think is practically useless, the 5c piece, into the most powerful coin in the world. To the average Aussie a 5 cent piece is seen as almost useless. Every day it’s simply discarded and left behind.

Once you’re done drinking out of an aluminum can, there isn’t much left to do but recycle it. Not for Japanese artist Makaon, though. He takes these would-be discarded cans and turns them into sculptures featuring characters from popular culture. We see the Super Mario Brothers, Batman, Pikachu, and even Buzz Lightyear crafted out of the various colorful packaging.

Artists know that their process is as important as the product. In fact, the time they put into their work can directly affect how powerful and impressive their completed piece will be in the end. Here are some time-consuming works of art whose ends justify the means.

Oh the  deception ! What you might  mistake  for real birds are actually 3D paper sculptures by artist  Diana Beltran Herrera . She hand-makes these lifelike models by gluing  layers  of paper to form the torso, wings, and head. Carefully-cut pieces of paper are then meticulously added to serve as the birds’ glorious feathers. It takes her anywhere from 5 days to 2 weeks to finish each piece, which is totally amazing, considering she just makes these during her spare time!

Carl Jara  aka  Grain Damaged  is an award-winning, professional sand sculptor from Cleveland, Ohio. Jara says he has known since high-school that he wanted to be an artist. If everywhere you look there are faces staring back, you’re not alone.  For the past 10 years French artist  Gilbert Legrand  has been finding the hidden characters in everyday objects and revealing them with paint. His whimsical vision sees all sorts of household objects become things they were not: a coat hanger becomes a mouse sporting shoes; a paintbrush transforms into a teen with an attitude (and a wicked hairdo); and the blades of some scissors get amorous.

The Korean artist Yong Ho Ji is known for his work with realistic sculptures. Each piece is created from a wealth of details that turn each of these into works of art. Moreover, a great curiosity of the artist's work is the material used - all the sculptures are made with tire.  The strength of their work are animals and mythological creatures, but he also has sculptures of the human form.  Inspiring, isn't it?
