london-based creative duo  bompas & parr  light up the favorite summertime snack of many, experimenting once again with food for their ‘glow-in-the-dark cornetto’.  the popular ice cream cone radiates a yellow glow and, when licked, leaves the treat tester with florescent features. unsuspecting visitors to the film premiere of the ‘end of the world’ at london’s leicester square were surprised when their flavored frosty bite left them lucent in the dark movie theater, turning their tongues into beacons of light.

Brazilian  photographer and  visual artist   William Kass  has a slightly different understanding of what  food  is than most of us do. In his witty “Minimize – Food” diorama photography series, he uses fruit, vegetables, seeds and other edible products and substances to take his tiny plastic people all around the world. Orange slices become sparkling fruity pools, a hunk of Swiss cheese becomes a stylish restaurant, and a dough patty becomes a sumo ring. The possibilities that food gives to the creative mind are endless!

For almost every day last month Malaysian artist/architect  Hong Yi  (who often goes by the nickname Red) created a fun illustration made with common (and occasionally not so common) food. Her parameters were simple: the image had to be comprised entirely of food and the only backdrop could be a white plate.
