Six massive  industrial silos  on the Granville Island in Vancouver, Canada, have been wonderfully transformed into six vividly colored  giants  by Brazilian  graffiti  artist duo Os Gemeos. Octavio and Gustavo Pandolfo, the twin brothers behind Os Gemeos, dedicated roughly a month of their time to create this astonishing piece as part of the Vancouver Biennale.

As part of the  UN Conference on Sustainable Development  (Rio+20) an enormous outdoor installation of fish was constructed using discarded plastic bottles on Botafogo beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Virginia-based artist  Eric Standley  ( previously ) brings a whole new meaning to the term “cutting edge” with his methodical stained glass windows created entirely from laser-cut paper. Standley stacks well over 100 sheets for many of his pieces which involve months of planning, drawing, and assembly. The artist says his inspiration comes from the geometry found in Gothic and Islamic architectural ornamentation which he somewhat jokingly calls “folk math.”

This year 32  nations  coming together in  Brazil  to see who would be crowned world champions and lift the 20th FIFA World Cup and the whole world’s attention is focused on the  football -crazy South American nation. The festivities have just begun and will continue till the mid way of the next month and brands from across the globe are using the opportunity to launch special edition Brazil-centric products.
